“ Many times we check our bathtubs, sinks, and showers for mold but forget some of the other common places where mold likes to hide like under sinks, on your roofs, windows, and pipes.

“ Turn on the bathroom lights before you shower and leave them on 15-20 minutes after you are done. Mildew hates light.

“ Since we don’t have the time to clean our bathroom daily, we have started to give the shower walls and tub a quick spray with cleaner after the last person showers every morning.

“ After you take a shower, make sure you close your shower curtain and that it is not folded over itself anywhere to allow it to dry properly.

“ It’s really important to use a good cleaner like Tilex when cleaning the bathroom.

“ If the girls have an especially ‘splashy’ bath I’ll go in after with a towel and dry things off.

“ To ensure that mold doesn’t grow in my bathroom, I turn on the overhead fan in order to keep the humidity down.

“ Periodically snake out your shower and sink drain so not to provide a place for mold to build up.

“ I’m conscious to turn the fan on when I’m in the shower, and in my bathroom, it turns on with the light, so there’s really no way to forget it unless I want to shower in the dark!
